Osa Healthcare Recruitment is supporting out client to recruit a full time specialty doctor (non-consultant grade) to work in their two new General Adult units.
The job will be based at their hospital which is an 80 bed service comprising a 52 bed secure unit with both MSU and LSU wards and two x 14 bed general adult wards. The hospital is purpose built. The hospital is centrally located with excellent transport links to London and Brighton.
Applications are invited for a dynamic and innovative full-time specialty doctor to provide medical support to the consultant, and to function as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team. Secretarial support is provided.
The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills (both verbally and written) and the ability to build effective relationships with service users, colleagues and other professionals. Good IT skills are essential.
Duties include (amongst other things) clerking in new patients, writing reports for ICRs, CPAs and hearings, attending and chairing said meetings in the consultant’s absence, assessing physical health and requesting appropriate tests, prescribing medication and keeping medication charts up to date, completing request form for MoJ and SOADs etc., assessing patients for admission and reviewing patients who are admitted to general hospital if required, liaising with external providers to ensure smooth transition when moving patients to and from the Hospital, completing ICR actions and keeping care notes dashboard up to date. You may occasionally be asked to help on the forensic side if covering for the forensic associate specialist. You will not be on the on-call rota unless negotiated with management.
